The World’s Longest Glass-Bottom Bridge Stretches Across the Lianjiang River in China

Extending 526.14 meters, a new glass-bottom bridge in China’s Huangchuan Three Gorges Scenic Area now ranks as the longest in the world. The lengthy structure is the project of the firm Architectural Design & Research Institute of Zhejiang University and looms 201 meters above the Lianjiang River. Bright red towers mark either end, with an 8.8-meter-wide deck running between them. Three layers of 4.5-centimeter-thick glass lined with steel compose the transparent bridge, which is suspended with cables and can hold 500 people. According to Dezeen, the previous record-holder was a wobbly 488-meter structure in China’s Hebei province.

Typographic Stamps Designed by Davide Pagliardini

Typographic Stamps Designed by Davide Pagliardini

A series of four stamps designed by Davide Pagliardini for the Philatelic and Numismatic Office of the Republic of San Marino.

Davide Pagliardini had the pleasure to design a series of four stamps for the Philatelic and Numismatic Office of the Republic of San Marino. The Italian designer created a series that explores the most classic greeting: a simple but fundamental “Hello”, written in several languages, as an anthem of integration. It’s the most diffused kind of greeting, it is used by everyone—so simple and so daily to be able to associate all of us, wherever we are.

Below you can find all four stamp designs. For more of Davide Pagliardini’s creative work, please visit his website or follow him on Behance and Instagram.

Build Your Own Trick-Savvy Dog with This DIY Robotics Kit

Build Your Own Trick-Savvy Dog with This DIY Robotics Kit

All images © Petoi, shared with permission

The days of expensive training lessons for your dogs have come to an end. Thanks to Petoi (previously), you can build your own robotic pup that’s programmed to perform basic commands from the get-go. The agile canine, named Bittle, moves just like a live animal would and because of its spring-loaded upper legs, can navigate bumpy terrain and flip itself over when it lands on its back.

Fitting in the palm of a hand, the automated design is battery operated and can be taught new tricks by uploading new programs you can write yourself. The mechanics and color appear similar to Boston Dynamics’ famous utilitarian robot Spot, a substantially larger machine with a much heftier price tag.

With a few weeks remaining, the project’s Kickstarter campaign already has exceeded its fundraising goal, but there are rewards available for those hoping to pick up a new sidekick. To follow the design group’s projects, head to Instagram and Twitter, and watch the robotic creatures in action on YouTube.

Brand and Packaging Design by Menta for Casa Selva

A brand and packaging design case study by graphic design studio Menta for skincare line Casa Selva.

Menta is a Mexican graphic design studio that celebrates simplicity with a touch of nostalgia. In 2019, the creative team was asked to work on a new brand identity and packaging series for Casa Selva, a skincare line inspired by the old city of Tulum and its lush jungle botanicals. Their aim is to elevate the daily ritual of self-care with pure ingredients.

Graphic design studio Menta designed a bespoke logotype where air and open space play graciously around each letter. They redesigned a symbol that features a sophisticated palm tree for Casa Selva, which is also a monogram that is used in selected pieces. Just have a look at the images below. Brand Identity Relaunch by EIGA Design for Inditango

Posted by Categories: Blog Comments are off for this post

German award-winning agency EIGA was commissioned to work on a new brand identity for Inditango—one of Europe’s leading management consultancies.

In most industries today, IT is the basis for success. Inditango enables organizations to manage IT like a business. The company is one of Europe’s leading management consultancies with a focus on increasing the added value of IT. Inditango commissioned agency EIGA to work on a relaunch of the existing brand identity. The goal was to create a new visual language that expresses the uniqueness of the company’s authentic and progressive approach through brand strategy, visual identity, and digital communication. Please read more below.

Inditango — Brand Identity Relaunch by EIGA

The unique brand name is derived from the phonetic NATO alphabet. The abbreviation IT is reproduced as “India” and “Tango”. So it only seemed logical to use the visual system of the Morse code to complete the design—two dots for the letter “i” and a single dash for the letter “t”. All visual elements including logo, layout grid, illustrations, and icons are derived from these basic elements. Below you can find more of the new brand identity.
